چکیده

A broad diversity of biological organisms and systems interact with soil in ways that facilitate their growth survival. These interactions are made possible by strategies enable to accomplish functions can be analogous those required geotechnical engineering systems. Examples include anchorage soft weak ground, penetration into hard stiff subsurface materials movement loose sand. Since the have been ‘vetted’ process natural selection, they governed same physical laws both engineered environments, represent a unique source principles design ideas for addressing challenges. Prior implementation as solutions, however, differences spatial temporal scales material properties between environment system must addressed. Current bio-inspired geotechnics research is topics such excavation penetration, soil–structure interface shearing, load transfer foundation elements soils, mass thermal transport, having gained inspiration from worms, clams, ants, termites, fish, snakes plant roots. This work highlights potential benefits through new or improved solutions biology understanding mechanisms result cross-disciplinary collaborations.

Current opportunities and challenges in skeletal muscle tissue engineering.

The purpose of this article is to give a concise review of the current state of the art in tissue engineering (TE) of skeletal muscle and the opportunities and challenges for future clinical applicability. The endogenous progenitor cells of skeletal muscle, i.e. satellite cells, show a high proneness to muscular differentiation, in particular exhibiting the same characteristics and function as ...

Nanostructures and Bio-inspired Computer Engineering

Nanoelectronics is the development of electronic devices with dimensions between one and ten nanometers. If Moore’s law continues to hold, it could be possible to construct Avogadro Computer, i.e. an architecture that efficiently employs 10 elements to perform computation, sometimes about 2020 [3]. Shorter-time prediction says that chips will contain 10 transistors and will operate at 10-15 GHz...
